A CALL FROM OUR SAVIOUR
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I
send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
Isaiah 6: 8
King James Version
We may never be called to be a missionary in foreign lands or even here at home,
but all of us are called to be witnesses in our homes, our neighborhoods, our
churches and on our jobs. There are people who will drive hundreds of miles on
vacation trips, but they are unwilling to drive across town to visit someone who
desperately needs to know that someone cares.
If Jesus were to knock on your door today and ask you to go witness to someone,
what would you say to Him? Would you be willing and ready to go, or would you
tell Him that you are too busy? We live in a world that is run on schedules and
appointments. Yet, I have never found any place in the Bible that says Jesus had
a schedule or that people had to make appointments with Him. If Jesus, who was
the busiest of all of us, could make time for people, what excuse do we have for
not being available when someone is hurting and in need?
I receive so many emails from people who are hurting and need to know that
somebody loves them and understand what they are going through. The people who
are hurting do not need advice. They need us to put our arms around them and
prove that Jesus Loves them. We need to love them by our actions because without
actions, words are meaningless.
If you will listen with your heart, you will hear our Saviour calling you to
service for Him. What will your answer be; will you say yes to Jesus? He gave
His life for us. How can we do less than give Him all that we have? Our level of
service to Him will depend on how much we love Him.
