ATTACKS ON THE CROSS
“If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I
command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7: 13, 14
King James Version
As our country is facing possible terrorist attacks, the
cross of love is being attacked daily. We can blame the president and the
government for the condition our country is in, but to do that is calling Jesus
a liar. Jesus said that the people who claim to be Christians are at fault. Many
times we go to Jesus and demand and claim promises in the Bible, however Jesus
said that we must first humble ourselves and pray, and turn from our wicked
ways.
Many people subscribe to the theory that God is a name and claim it God. I
submit to you on the Authority of the Word of God that we must follow the
conditions that are in these verses. Then and only then will He hear us and heal
our land. When we pray, if we are only kneeling physically but not kneeling in
our hearts, then our prayers will never touch the heart of Jesus. He is not
impressed with our posture, what He is concerned with is the condition of our
hearts.
Jesus died a cruel death on the cross to give us unconditional Love,
forgiveness, hope, mercy, grace and understanding. He expects us to love others
as He Loves us. This is not an option; it is a commandment from Jesus to love
one another. If we would start loving and praying for people, instead of praying
against them and trying to fix them, we would have a world that would make Him
happy.
