GOD’S INSPECTION
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance, against such
there is no law.”
Galatians 5: 22, 23
King James Version
Several years ago when I worked in nursing homes, state inspectors would come
and inspect the facility. The supervisors and owners would rush around repairing
and cleaning the place from top to bottom. It would depend on the cleanliness
and the condition of the facility if it passed inspection.
One day, God is going to do the final inspection. It does not matter how clean
or dirty or homes are; what is going to concern Him is the condition of our
hearts. If our hearts are filled with unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment,
hatred, envy, criticism and sarcasm, we will fail the inspection and we won’t be
allowed into Heaven.
However, we are unable to do anything to make our hearts presentable to God. All
the good deeds in the world will never satisfy God. It is only through the shed
blood of the Christ of Calvary that we are made clean and in right standing with
God. We must have the cleansing, atoning blood of Jesus applied to our hearts.
He takes away all the filth and garbage of our sins and gives us a new heart, a
heart filled with the things that please God.
If Jesus were to come back for us today, are you ready to meet Him? Will you
pass the final inspection? Has there ever been a time when you confessed that
you are a sinner and asked Jesus to forgive your sins and come into your heart
and be your personal Saviour? Your family and friends can’t do it. You must be
the one to make the decision. Will you say yes to Jesus?
