THE SONG OF OUR HEARTS
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be
afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my
salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of
salvation.”
Isaiah 12: 2, 3
King James Version
There are times when we are in the middle of a crisis and we don’t feel like
singing. It is then that we need to allow Jesus to be our strength and song. He
can put the song back into our hearts even in the midst of turmoil and
loneliness. We don’t have the strength to fight against the fiery darts of satan
and the enticements of the world. It is Jesus who is our strength and fights our
battles and keeps us from being snared by satan and the world.
I have received a lot of emails in the last two weeks from people who are
discouraged and hurting. So many people are hungry for unconditional love and
understanding. We need to let others see Jesus shining brightly in our lives by
our smiles, our kind words and the things we do for them. It is impossible to
encourage others if we are discouraged. When our song dies and we falter in our
service to Jesus, we need to ask Him to renew our strength, our song and our
determination to serve Him in spite of countless obstacles.
The verse says that we shall draw water out of the wells of salvation with joy.
Jesus not only saves our soul, He saves us from danger and even from ourselves.
Yes, Jesus is the song of our hearts. He not only gives us a new song to sing
every day; He sings a love song to us and assures us of His mercy, grace,
forgiveness, tenderness and understanding. If you have lost your song, reach out
to Jesus and let Him restore your joy.
