WILL IT EVER BE MORNING
“Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks
at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his
favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Psalm 30: 4, 5
King James Version
Have you ever wondered during the long lonely night if the sun would ever come
up and if morning would ever come? There are times when we are in the middle of
overwhelming heartaches and circumstances and we wonder if morning will ever
come for us. Yesterday I was in the darkness of discouragement and I wondered if
morning would ever come. My morning didn’t come for me until I went to Jesus and
told Him that I needed His help and then the Son came up. We are powerless to
bring the morning, only Jesus can take away the darkness but we have to go to
Him and ask Him for help.
While Jesus is the only one who can bring the morning, we need to be encouragers
to one another. If we know someone who is hurting and we fail to extend love and
encouragement to that person, not only are we hurting that person, we are
breaking our Saviour’s heart. I have read of committees that are formed to
discuss ways to help people. We don’t need committees; Jesus has already told us
what to do. Instead of wasting time discussing the situation, we need to be
taking action.
Some of you have been going through the darkness of discouragement, despair,
loneliness, divorce, loss of loved ones, financial problems and broken homes for
a long time and it feels like your morning will never come. I can tell you on
the authority of the Word of God that your morning will come when you give
everything to Jesus and let Him take control. I urge you to open your heart to
the only one who can bring morning.
