HOW ARE YOU
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which
are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even
as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!”
Matthew 23: 37
King James Version
The heart of our Saviour was broken as He said this
statement. He wanted to give His Love to them and they rejected Him. Jesus has
feelings or He would never have willingly walked that long and lonely road to
Calvary for us. When He hung on the cruel cross and said, “It is finished.” He
made a way for us to have forgiveness of our sins and be assured of a home in
Heaven with Him for all eternity.
Joyce Landorf, a well known author and speaker, says on one of her teaching
tapes “Someone came up to me and said “Hi, how are you? Jesus loves you. I’ve
got to go. Bye.” Joyce said to her “Well, that’s not enough! I need someone to
put his arms around me and prove to me that Jesus loves me.”
We are guilty of doing the same thing to Jesus. We might tell Him we love Him
but only spend a few minutes a day with Him. There are times, and I don’t do it
as often as I should, that I say “How are You, Jesus? Have a nice day.” He is
concerned with us having a good day; we should be concerned with Him having a
good day.
We can do our part in helping Jesus to have a nice day by loving people to Him.
It is not enough to tell people that Jesus Loves them; we must put our arms
around them and hug them to Jesus. We must prove to them by our words and
especially by our actions that they are Loved by the Saviour of the world. Have
you hugged someone for Jesus today?
