NOT ICE CREAM
“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods,
and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable,
and poor, and blind, and naked.”
Revelation 3: 17
King James Version
I like ice cream but I only eat it when I’m hot. Sometimes we treat Jesus like
He is ice cream. We only go to Him when we’re hurting. Our Saviour is not to be
put on the shelf and taken down when we need something or when it is convenient
for us. He has feelings just like we do.
He is to be respected and honored. He deserves our praises, adoration, loyalty
and service. Everything that we have and all that we are belongs to Him. We are
the clay and He is the Potter. Without Jesus, we would be drifting through life
without purpose or meaning. Nothing makes sense without Him and nobody or
nothing brings the joy that He gives to us.
He is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He is the beautiful Rose of
Sharon. He is the Saviour of the world and the dearest and best Friend you will
ever have. I have a lot of wonderful friends, but nobody brings me the joy,
peace and happiness that He gives me every day. Without Him, my life would be
meaningless.
Do you know this loving and wonderful Saviour? Have you made a reservation for
Heaven? If not, I urge you, I plead with you to say yes to the Christ of Calvary
before it’s too late. Your spouse, your children, your parents, your siblings
and your friends can’t do it for you. You must invite Jesus into your heart to
be your personal Saviour. Please don’t treat Him like He is ice cream and just
call on Him when you’re in the middle of a crisis.
