THE HIDDEN
STORMS
“For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his
distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the
terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.”
Isaiah 25: 4
King James Version
We have many hidden storms in our lives. People have said cruel things to us and
done things to us to hurt us. Sometimes we lash out at the people who have hurt
us, but often we keep the scars hidden in our hearts. Joyce Landorf, an author
and speaker said on one of her teaching tapes “The people you sit next to in
church look fine and darling, but inside they are hurting”.
I remember the first time God told me to call someone to encourage her. I
didn’t know what to say to her; I wasn’t even walking with Jesus at that time.
Yet, I knew in my heart that God wanted me to encourage her. She was a speaker
at a meeting that I attended every month. I called her and told her, “God told
me to call you and tell you that He Loves you”. She got very quiet and said
thank you.
The next month at the missions meeting she said, “Someone called me last month
and said God told me to tell you that He Loves you”. She said “That person does
not know what was going on in my home when she called. I needed that
encouragement right then. That was the watering of the Holy Spirit”. She told us
that we need to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit because He might
want to use us to water someone’s heart.
Dear friends, I don’t know what storms are in your heart today, but I can tell
you from personal experience that there is nothing that Jesus can’t fix. He is
the restorer of broken hearts and broken lives. Put your faith and trust in
Jesus. He will never fail you. He is waiting for you with His arms of Love,
mercy, tenderness, forgiveness, understanding, comfort and compassion open wide
to give you a big hug and hold you close to His heart.
When I made a heart commitment to Him to August 14, 1980, He put His Loving arms
around me and has never let me go, not even for one second. He whispers softly
in my ear every day “I Love you, Joanne”. There is no one like Jesus! There is
no friend like Him! There is nothing in this world that can give us the peace,
joy, Love, happiness and contentment that He gives to us.
Have you said yes to Jesus? Has there ever been a time when you admitted that
you were a sinner and asked Him to forgive you and come into your heart to be
your personal Saviour? If not, please don’t wait any longer. One day, every knee
shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. What a day
of honor that will be for my best friend, Jesus!
