RIVERS OF JOY
“For I am persuaded, that neither
death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,
nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able
to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38, 39
King James Version
We have many rivers of joy in our lives. We have the river of an unexpected
hug from our sister. When we see a new born baby, a sense of awe fills our heart
with joy. At night when we go to bed, we have a bed to sleep on and we no longer
have to sleep on the floor. The sun that shines during the day and the moon that
we see at night are rivers of joy for us. However, the greatest river of joy is
the Sonshine of our heart and His Name is Jesus.
There is absolutely nothing that we can do to take the Love of Jesus from us. We
hurt Him, abuse Him, ridicule Him, doubt Him and ignore Him, but He still Loves
us. What an amazing Saviour, this Jesus of Nazareth! The Love of Jesus is the
solution to every heartache, every trial and every problem. Without His Love,
everything is meaningless and in vain.
The world and satan will hurt their poisonous darts of criticism, sarcasm,
hatred and cursing at us, but Jesus remains our River of Joy. He brings light
through the clouds of doubts and fears that attack us. He walks before us,
behind us and beside us protecting us from all danger. He takes our hand and
leads us in the right path. He pours His river of Love into our hearts that are
filled with despair and loneliness. Thank God for the River of life, joy, peace
and happiness, our wonderful Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ!
