THE TOILETS OF OUR LIFE
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth,
but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto
the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto
the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour,
and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to
another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake
hath forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4: 29 – 32
King James Version
Just as the toilets in our bathrooms contain material that stinks, so does the
unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, jealousy, hatred, envy, strife, sarcasm
and criticism that we allow to accumulate in our hearts. We can flush our
toilets in the bathrooms, but it takes the cleansing atoning blood of our
Saviour to flush away the stink in our hearts.
If we are having trouble forgiving people because they have hurt us, we need to
follow the example of our Heavenly Father and forgive them for Christ’s sake. If
we will ever understand that we don’t have a right to harbor unforgiveness in
our hearts, I think we will live a more productive and peaceful life. It
certainly will make Jesus happy if we will forgive as He has told us to do.
Sometimes we become so cold and indifferent to people that Jesus has to take us
to the wood shed to correct us. He tries talking to us but if we refuse to
listen and obey Him, then He corrects us with love. How is your heart today? Is
it filled with things that stink in the nostrils of Jesus? If so, allow Him to
take all of that away through His grace, mercy and understanding. He Loves you
very much and wants you to be happy, but we can never be happy without being in
right standing with our Saviour.
