WORTHY THE LAMB
“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take
the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed
us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power,
and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.”
Revelation 5: 9, 12
King James Version
One day, people who deny and ridicule Jesus will sing a new song, “Worthy is the
Lamb”. Indeed, our wonderful and glorious Saviour is worthy of all that we can
give Him and do for Him. Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords left all
that He had and left His Father to come to earth knowing that He would be
crucified and tortured more than any human. What kind of Love is this? This is
unconditional Love which makes our hearts sing “Worthy is the Lamb!”
He was the first missionary because He left His home and His Father. He had a
home that we can’t even imagine and He left it out of obedience to His Father
and Love for us. Yet, many times we complain because we don’t have a big home, a
big car, a swimming pool, and everything that our friends have. He set the
example for us to follow.
However, it all comes down to our motives. Why do we do the things that we do?
Why do we write, sing, preach, teach, and spread His Love? If we are doing them
to draw attention to ourselves and gain fame, then our service to Him means
nothing and it stinks in His nostrils. The only desire in anyone’s heart who
truly loves Jesus should be to make Him happy. Serving Jesus is not only an
honor and a privilege, it is a joy. He is worthy to be praised and adored.
