A TASTE OF HEAVEN
“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly
love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in
spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing
instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to
hospitality.”
Romans 12: 10 – 13
King James Version
People are smiling at one another and stopping to listen after they ask someone
“How are you?” They are shutting off the television and spending time with their
families. They are writing letters and emails. They are having family and
friends over for dinner and laughing with one another. If we were to do what
these verses tell us to do, we would have a taste of Heaven on earth.
We get so caught up with our daily lives and busy schedules that we have
neglected to do what Jesus has commanded us to do and that is to love one
another as He Loves us. We need to prioritize our time. If we will put Jesus
first before everything and everyone, then He will arrange our schedule so that
we will have time to do what He wants us to do. There are times when what we
have planned to do that day is not His plans for us.
We have many pressures and demands on our time. We are a busy people. I submit
to you on the authority of the Word of God that there is nobody who is busier
than Jesus was when He was on earth. He ministered to countless people on a
daily basis. He never made them set up an appointment or a special time to talk
to Him. He was available and His heart was open to them twenty four hours a day,
just like He is available to us today. Let’s ask Jesus what He wants us to do
everyday and let Him arrange our schedules. He will make our lives a lot more
productive and fruitful.
