HAVE YOU SEEN HIS HEART
“But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not
with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have
seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print
of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand
into his side, I will not believe.”
John 20: 24, 25
King James Version
Thomas refused to believe unless he saw the print of the nails in the hands of
our Saviour. How that must have broken the heart of Jesus. We are just as guilty
as Thomas was that day. Unless we have our prayers answered when we want them
answered, we sometimes doubt Jesus. We see the miracles that Jesus does for us,
a new born baby, and many other things. However, I think we don’t take the time
to see His heart.
If we were to look closely at His heart, we would see the open and raw wounds
put there by years of neglect, abuse, torture, ridicule, unbelief and cursing.
We would see a heart that breaks daily and weeps because His Love is rejected.
We would see an agony that nobody has ever or will ever know. All He wants to do
is give His Love away and so often it is rejected. His heart was broken that day
on the cross and His heart is still hurting by our words and actions to one
another.
You have seen His daily miracles, but have you seen His heart? Have you taken
the time to look deeply into the heart of our precious and Loving Saviour? If
not, I urge you to go to Him without asking Him for anything. Just spend time
ministering to Him by your devotion and adoration for Him. It is time we stop
thinking so much about our happiness and start thinking about what we can do to
make Him happy.
