OPEN YOUR EYES
“But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave
of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he
shall receive any thing of the Lord.”
James 1: 6, 7
King James Version
I watched a family program on television this morning
and the pastor of the church told the man who was grieving “I’ve been in the
ministry for thirty years and have never seen a miracle”. He told the man to
pray for strength. Even though that was not a true story, the message it conveys
is a message that is not only untrue, it is an insult to Jesus.
Jesus performs miracles every day of our lives. Every time that we take a breath
it is a miracle because without the air that Jesus supplies we couldn’t breathe.
He gives us food to eat, shoes and clothes to wear, beds to sleep on, families
and friends who love us and countless conveniences in the home that we don’t
really need.
The greatest miracle He did for us was the day He shed His precious atoning
blood on the cross for our sins. When a person allows Jesus to apply that blood
to his or her heart, a miracle called salvation transforms the heart of the
person. Jesus not only saves us for all eternity, He changes our hearts and our
lives. He takes the bitterness, hatred, unforgiveness, sarcasm and ridicule from
our hearts and replaces them with His Love, mercy, tenderness, and
understanding.
It is time that we remove the blinders from our eyes and heart and acknowledge
that Jesus has done and is continuing to do miracles in our hearts every day. If
you have doubts that Jesus can perform miracles, ask Him to forgive you for
doubting Him. He does so much for us. What have we done for Him?
