REMEMBER THE CROSS
“But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify
him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests
answered, We have no king but Caesar. Then delivered he him therefore unto them
to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. Then came the soldiers,
and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not
his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith
came there out blood and water.”
John 19: 15, 16, 32 – 34
King James Version
This is a very sad time of remembering for us as we
reflect on the tragedy that happened on 9-11. Our hearts are heavy and tears are
in our eyes and in our hearts. What a horrible thing took place on that day when
innocent lives were taken! Yet, there was a worse tragedy that happened and it
occurred the day that Jesus was crucified. Yes, let’s remember 9-11 and pray for
the families and friends of those who were killed, but let’s also remember the
cross.
There are reminders on the television, on the radio, in emails and practically
everywhere you go about 9-11. How sad that we don’t hear “Remember The Cross”. I
think God’s heart must be very sad that we forget about the torture and pain
that Jesus suffered for us on that cruel cross. We think about and talk about
9-11 more than we do about the death of the Saviour of the world.
Jesus allowed them to crucify Him so that we may be saved. What a sacrifice of
Love Jesus displayed that day on the cross! Thank You Jesus for your sacrifice
of Love for us! Worthy is the Lamb of God! There is no one like Jesus! What a
Saviour!
